The Elements

I have been working on my Elements series for a while. It is something I pick up, do some work and then get inevitably sidetracked by a freelance job or other sketch demanding attention. It felt great to finally finish it up.

I find it fun and challenging to do a series - keeping each piece consistent with each other, but also able to stand on their own. The idea for this series was inspired by a daily drawing (derived from an earlier small sketch), which would be the first element to be completed (Air).  The others followed suit - Earth, Fire and finally Water.

I wanted to let the lines of the drawings shine through, and accent them with colors that relate to the essence of the element itself, which dissipate into the open white space.

Now...on to finishing my Art-o-mat project. More on that coming this week :)
